The Galvin Brothers take whiskey-drinking to a new level with Jameson Works
Jameson Works is the creative department of the world-famous whiskey-brand, initiating collaborative, art-oriented projects that fit in line with the brand’s identity centred around heritage and innovation. In the last couple of months, they ventured into the field of design, and teamed up with the Galvin Brothers to create a unique set of furniture that takes whiskey drinking to a new level.
One as a joiner and the other as a designer, Yorkshire-based Matthew and Galvin continued their father’s joinery and cabinet-making business. For the Jameson collaboration, they brought in this 60-years-old tradition and their favourite and most-used European oak, but paired it with brass, a new material inspired by their trip to the Midleton Distillery.
The result is a set of benches and tables, that turn whiskey-drinking into a real community experience. Following the classic brief “form and function”, the tables are designed to accommodate all necessities for mixing a great cocktail, like a chopping board, a hole for the whiskey-bottle, and slots for lime and spices. The set premiered at the Reverend JW Simpson bar in London, and is available to buy online for your pub or your home.
