Jean-Michel Basquiat x Ligne Blanche returns with plate collection
Artistic porcelain manufacturer Ligne Blanche has just released yet another Jean-Michel Basquiat-imprinted collection. After previous years’ plates, mugs, and candles, the 2015 line includes 4 plates, all featuring artworks from 1982. The Self-portrait with Suzanne and three Untitled works capture the essence of Basquiat’s visionary universe with their graffitiesque lines, conceptual texts, and voodoo-creatures. The plates, measuring 21 cm in diameter and made of Limoges porcelain, are just as functional as decorative objects. The collection is up for sale at Gagosian Gallery for $150 USD / piece - or rather, it was, as the plates are all sold out by now. Regarding the collaboration’s very limited nature it is dubious whether the plates would be restocked, nevertheless, you may grab one at Ligne Blanche's online shop.
