Alexander Wang finally opens flagship in London
Alexander Wang, who is celebrating the 10th anniversary of his own home-grown label this year, opened his newest this August. Being the first flagship not only in London, but in Europe as well, the British capital was an obvious first choice, as it is the nr1 city in the world for shopping, according to Wang. The store is located in the Mayfair district, in a building that used to be a post office. The interior was redesigned in collaboration with Belgian architect Vincent van Duysen, who is not a newbie when it comes to creating hip retail spaces.
The aesthetic of the interior matches Wang’s signature minimalist, utilitarian style with its clear lines and sharp edges. The monochrome palette, also typical of Wang, and the grey concrete fittings further emphasize the strong look, while being neutral enough to let merchandise take centre stage. The 3-stories occupying over 600 sq. m. provide enough space to present the Wang line in its eternity, including menswear, womenswear, accessories, and the OBJECTS collection. The London outlet is the 25th in the line of Alexander Wang flagship stores, marking an important milestone in the brand’s history.
