MUT teams up with Peronda for chocolate bar-like tiles
Everyone's favourite Valencian design conglomerate MUT Studio created a minimal-looking tile collection for Peronda with a playful reference. The simple grid pattern of the Onza family resembles a classic bar of chocolate, both shape and texture-wise. MUT designed for the Harmony by Peronda collection, the Spanish company’s more trend-oriented, progressive, fun line, thus light-hearted references like chocolate are very much appropriate.
Onza incorporates only three kind of designs, all playing around the idea of a grid; yet the simple geometry of the tiles and their cut-out corner sections allow for endless combination possibilities, creating a range of unique patterns. The most basic design resembles entirely a bar of chocolate, with regular and uniform-sized rectangular sections. The second type plays around with rectangles in three different sections, while the third tile features a large central square that is surrounded by a set of smaller and more slender little siblings.
Thanks to the invisible joints, the pieces can be assembled together seamlessly, providing infinite combination possibilities. The diversity is further enhanced by the three colours available: with the grey, orange, and white, MUT intends to evoke different sensations, standing on their own or put together in careful harmony.
