House for Mother — Swedish Summerhouse
The two parallel volumes are slightly shifted from each other thus creating spaces in the front and the back of the building. The front volume is partly in two levels with a less-inclined roof providing bedrooms and a small studio. The back volume contains the kitchen, the dining room and the living room, the bathroom and the laundry room located in a smaller cabin within the structure.
The facades and the roof are covered with raw, corrugated aluminium while the interior is warm with an exposed timber structure and walls lined with plywood. The polished concrete floor folds up along the perimeter of the building and transforms into a bench and shelf.
