Project 'Re-Framing Danish Design' gives an update to iconic pieces
The two lucky designers invited to execute this task were Sebastian Herkner from Germany, and Niek Pulles from Holland. Though both young, Sebastian has already worked with companies like Moroso and Gubi, while Niek is most known for his Foamboys he created for a Comme des Garcons installation. They were given free hand to choose the 10 iconic pieces they wanted to transform. Their selection includes Montana and their Montana system by Peter J. Lassen, Lightyear’s Caravaggio lamp by Cecilie Manz, Carl Hansen & Søn’s Safari Chair by Kaare Klint, the brand new ‘Plateau’ by Søren Rose Studio to be launched for DK3, and the Tongue by Arne Jacobsen from HOWE.The outcome was first shown between 28-30 May at The Silo in Copenhagen, and the project got its own section on the DANISHTM site with featured interviews, reports and further updates.
