Top 5 festive pop-up ventures of the Budapest creative scene
Nanushka Festive Pop-Up
Nanushka is probably the most widely acclaimed Hungarian fashion designer home and abroad, which is no wonder regarding her feminine yet playful collections that can be easily incorporated into any wardrobe. From season to season she creates her own magic universe, featuring signature cuts with new prints, slightly influenced by current trends, but always very recognisably Nanushka. For this christmas, she surprised her fans with a special pop-up store, starring pieces from her earlier collections with up to 70% off the original price. Temporary sales like that are not unusual from her part as they are organised every now and then at various venues across town. This christmas store is unique in the line as it is housed in Nanushka’s former office space, above the flagship store at Fashion Street Budapest. To make the atmosphere more festive, decor specialist team A Fiók turned the interior into a charming winterland scene, making shopping into an enchanting experience.

Áeron Christmas Pop-Up
Luxury fashion brand Áeron, though available all across the globe from New York to Shanghai, operates only a small showroom in its native Budapest, offering a more private and personal shopping experience. For the pre-christmas days, their service is extended with some mulled wine-sipping and cookie-munching, as from December 7 they are waiting customers with a special festive ambiance at their downtown HQ. Appointment booking still available, now they open to anyone who is just passing by or is on a devoted treasure-hunting tour. The fashion house is preparing not only with some holiday-ish snacks but more importantly, with up to 50% off on select pieces. Whether you’re up to treating someone else or yourself, the Áeron pop-up is a truly unique chance to get your hands on some well-crafted, sophisticated clothing items and accessories.

Wild Flower Bar
The Wild Flower Bar is truly what one would call a pop-up store: the project was specifically launched for the Christmas period by two nature and design-loving young girls. Getting bored with the cheesy offerings of the city’s flower stalls, the owners decided to go back to the basics and create simple, organic, and tasteful bouquets and decorations. Originally intended to be a 3-day-long venture, the enormous success of the opening convinced the ladies that they should carry on their mission at least until christmas. To switch back on the festive mood, they are offering pre-holiday workshops where participants can make their own decorations, but besides their community programs, they still operate as a regular flower shop with a less-regular aesthetic sense.

DAIGE X VOY collab presentation
The evening of December 10 will see a truly one-of-a-kind happening. Young fashion brand Daige and the mysterious voy ceramics teamed up for a special collection that will be premiered and sold exclusively at a special event. Daige, the name covering a young and determinate Hungarian girl declaring that fashion is for all, brought the fun, schooldays-inspired prints of her a/w collection, that were applied by the careful hands of voy to understated porcelain pieces. Voy, as a recently launched venture, celebrates imperfection with its objects carrying traces of the maker’s fingerprints. The collection is therefore deeply personal and collaborative at the same time, the latter aspect further strengthened by AU Workshop’s involvement. The experimental architecture studio is responsible for the installation of the project, which, set up in the otherwise art-engaged Trapéz Gallery, is a real pre-Christmas feast of the local creative scene.

Projekt 15# The store of the Christmas unicorn
Project Showroom girls are the experts of pop-up shops, as they are specialised in temporary, thematic design markets. Their christmas outlet, organised for the fourth time now, is a favourite and, we can safely say, traditional spot for gift-hunters who think outside of what giant retailers offer. The speciality of Project Showroom lies in that they offer literally everything from tiny plastic bits and bobs to monstrous antique furniture - but all carefully curated. Think of kitchen accessories, hand-made soaps, or the best of contemporary Hungarian fashion, you’ll find it here. If the thousands of fantastic goods are not enough for you, the organisers make sure that buyers will get lost for hours, thanks to their innovative and fun interior design. This year’s core topic, the unicorn guarantees that the new downtown venue will feature lots of glitter, rainbow, colors, and magic - all up for you to discover from December 9.
