Evidence by Ai Weiwei
Controversial Chinese artist Ai Weiwei’s largest solo exhibition is currently taking place in Martin-Gropius-Bau Museum in Berlin. Evidence, which is the name of the event, covers 3000 square meters and 18 rooms of the Museum. The central installation called Stools shows 6000 wooden stools found in rural areas of China.
In all his work, Ai Weiwei focuses on issues related to freedom of speech, a fair distribution of power and democracy. The artist uses a variety of forms offered by conceptual art in order to express his opposition to Chinese politics.
